2019 — Chicago Cultural Center (Built)

Exhibit and Installation Design, Public Space Design, Environmental Graphics

Say hello to this curious cast of Chicago’s important but less glamorized architectural icons! Located just off the beaten path, these four quirky “building characters” are walkable from the Chicago Cultural Center. While often overshadowed by the flashier skyscrapers and celebrated giants that populate the Loop, these buildings offer unique geometry, narratives, and attitudes to expand our collective architectural imagination.

Like all architecture, these four buildings are not inert objects, but are active co-habitants of our city, subject to change, alteration, mood swings, and age. This custom chalkboard installation invites Chicago Cultural Center visitors to envision these buildings' futures through marking-making, drawing, and written stories.
